Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Managing Editor to join our founding executive team. This visionary leader will play a crucial role in nurturing the next generation of student leaders while helping shape the future of VoiceUp Publishing Incorporated.

 

About Voice Up Publishing

Voice Up Publishing Incorporated is dedicated to amplifying emerging voices and fostering social impact through innovative publishing initiatives. We believe in the power of student leadership and collaborative feedback to create meaningful change.

 

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and mentor cohorts of talented emerging student leaders through their publishing journey

- Develop and implement comprehensive feedback systems that enhance project quality and impact

- Facilitate constructive dialogue and idea-sharing sessions among student contributors

- Work directly with the founder to design and conduct impactful:

  - One-on-one mentoring sessions

  - Team-based workshops

  - Project development meetings

- Guide the editorial vision while maintaining focus on social impact objectives

- Create and maintain editorial standards that align with our mission

- Build and nurture a collaborative culture that encourages innovation and growth

 

Required Qualifications

- Proven track record in editorial leadership

- Experience mentoring or working with emerging talent

- Strong understanding of social impact initiatives

- Excellence in project management and team coordination

- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to provide constructive feedback while maintaining positive relationships

- Demonstrated commitment to developing young leaders

 

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous experience in startup or entrepreneurial environments

- Background in social enterprise or impact-focused organizations

- Understanding of academic or student publishing

- Experience with collaborative publishing models

 

Leadership & Management

- Executive team member with direct input into company strategy and direction

- Collaborative partnership with the founder

Compensation

As a member of the founding executive team, compensation includes:
